GUSC offers open access to an austere environment that replicates Central and South America, Sub Sahara Africa and South East Asia. The Center has a unique potential to increase unit training quality and quantity as units train beyond garrison distractions and limitations of crowded DOD ranges.
GUSC caters to the needs of Special Operations Forces and DOD’s training for strategic impact. As envisioned, the Center is well positioned to provide relief for local commands from the budgetary pressures and resulting transitions currently facing the Department of Defense.
By providing the infrastructure for realistic training, test, and evaluation for units stationed within GUSC’s area of influence, effective readiness of deploying forces may be attained and sustained without significant deployment of personnel and assets as well as excessive requirements for resources, time, travel, and associated funding.
